Education, training and development
We see learning in employment as being at the heart of continuously improving services for patients and ensuring we achieve our goals. Your learning journey will begin with a comprehensive induction programme and will continue throughout your career with us.
We use a variety of education, training and development methods that encourage genuine learning including on the job and off the job learning, for example formal education and development programmes, shadowing, clinical supervision, learning networks and action learning sets.
As a Teaching Hospital for the University of Birmingham, and through our partnership with other Higher Education Institutions, our learning facilities are superb and include:
- A modern, purpose built education and development centre
- A first class undergraduate teaching centre
- A dedicated clinical skills training laboratory
- A comprehensive clinical library that has electronic learning facilities
